I was transported back to canyon high school 1984. The worship was alway such an experience. I remember one time John telling us with our eyes closed to picture ourselves at the foot of Gods throne. What a blessing.
I have been trying to get a hold of the old brown label live worship cassettes. I miss the old school vineyard worship. The music that you , John and Eddie wrote was and still are such blessings. If you know where i can find any of the old cassettes i would be very happy. The new worship cds are ok, but there is nothing like vineyards old school worship.

Steve Bogan comments on The Wimber Years

I come back to your blogs and get encouraged every time! That said, I would contend that what Andy Park had going on this weekend was out of reach of most of us, but it had 'oil' on it that's for certain! The whole thing is bigger, broader and deeper than any one of us can get our mind around, that's for sure.

c

Larry Shea comments on Vineyard Worship– The Early Years - Part 1

Thanks so much for your thoughts on the "early years." During our time at Canyon High School, we were swept up and embraced by God Himself. That was on a more ethereal level. In THIS realm, what you and Eddie and John did was to set in place the spiritual "tuning fork" that would be the plumb line by which all Vineyard worship (in my opinion) would be measured: simple, humble, intimate, reproducible. It seems to me that, through the years, the closer the songs stayed to those crosshairs (to mix too many metaphors), the more on target they were. I don't know if you remember me coming up to you during a conference at Anaheim (sometime during the mid-late 80's while we were still in Arizona) and letting you know that the chords of some recent worship songs were too difficult for me to play if I wanted to keep my focus on Jesus at the same time. You seemed to react with some dismay, but I did notice that (for some time afterward) the songs seemed to get more simple, humble, intimate, and reproducible! It's my opinion that if the songwriters stick to those parameters, there's MORE OIL ON THE SONGS. What do you think?

Anonymous comments on What do I mean by bad?

Carl, I

Mitch Tulloch comments on Wimber - Models for Ministry

Carl, that's one of the best-written, uncomplicated explanations of Vineyard ministry principles/style that I've ever read, thanks!
